"Spring Cleaning" & "Family Game Night"

Day 27: "Spring Cleaning~Toy Donation" & Day 28: "Family Game Night"

Day 27: We started some spring cleaning and donated a bunch of our old toys and baby items to goodwill.
http://www.amazinggoodwill.com/stores/6

I was on vacation this week, but we really didn't have any big plans to do anything. We have a lot of little (and some big) projects to get done around the house, so we decided we would get some of those projects done this week. I'm still trying to stay true to the "100 Days of Summer" motto, but this week we will be doing more things around the house.  We have lots of "spring cleaning" to get caught up on, and we have a ton of stuff to go through and get rid of. That's a big job when you're doing it for 7 people!! We got rid of clothes, baby stuff, and toys, just to name a few.  The kids had a lot of toys they didn't play with, so we decided to donate a bunch and we threw away a lot of stuff too. We're also doing some room switching, so we've been moving furniture and cleaning out rooms. Lots of work being done around the Fritch household this week...lots to do, not quite done yet, but we're getting there :)

"S.T.A.R. & Angry Birds Water Balloon Toss"

Day 25 S.T.A.R Plan & Day 26 Angry Birds Water Balloon Toss

Day 25 S.T.A.R. Plan (Mon 6/18/12)
Today we implemented the STAR Plan in our house and we made some stars for all the kids to put on their bedroom doors as a visual reminder to always us the STAR plan if they have problem to solve or a decision to make.
http://humboldtelementaryguidance.wikispaces.com/file/view/Stop%2C+Think%2C+Act%2C+Review.pdf
STAR stands for Stop, Think, Act, Review. It's a four step process that can help kids solve problems or help them make decisions. It helps when they are fighting to say "STAR" and they start the process. It helps them resolve their own problems without me always having to be the bad guy or play referee.

"Father's Day Car Show"

Day 24: (Sun 6/17/12) Went to the Father's Day Car Show at Lakeside Park

http://www.eventcrazy.com/Fond-du-Lac-WI/events/details/5864-Fathers-Day-Antique-Car-and-Truck-Show

Today we went to the Father's day car show at Lakeside Park. Daddy, Maisy, and Dalton got up early to go get a good spot to park the 52'. It was a perfect day for a car show, a little hot, but other then that the weather was perfect, at least it didn't rain this year. We had a nice spot in the shade. It is always a fun time, and everyone likes to look at all the cool cars and trucks.
We parked right next to Granpa Terry and his hotrod...

"Kids Choice: Maisy~3D Movie"

Day 22: Maisy's Choice~Make Father's day gifts/cards & Go to a Movie.
http://www.fdlmovies.com/

Today was Maisy's choice. She wanted to make things for dad for Father's Day and go to a movie. So we did all our Father's day prep in the morning (shhh...it's a secret). Later, we went and bought Dalton & Lane new bikes. Finally, we had to pick out which movie we were going to see. We ended up going to see a 3D movie, which was super cool!!  We saw Madagascar 3. It was quite a fun day.
Love The Fritch Clan :)

"Kids Choice: Lane~Menominee Park"

Day 21: Lane's Choice~Go to Menominee Park/Zoo, Oshkosh.
http://www.ci.oshkosh.wi.us/Parks/Zoo/

This was my personal favorite of the kids choice days, actually, they all wanted to go.  We went to Menominee Park in Oshkosh today.  We met up with our friends Danielle, Kiana, and baby Olivia for lunch in the park. The kids had a great time playing on the playground, going through the zoo, swimming in the lake, and playing frisbee. We spend the whole afternoon here, so by the time we got home everyone was tired, but we had such a good time!!  (We got some really cute pictures too)

Walking into the zoo
The waves were pretty big today, they loved it...Sawyer hated it!

"Kids Choice: Dalton~Go to an Arcade"

Day 20: Dalton's Choice...Go to the Arcade

Dalton, the video game king.....
Big surprise he wanted to go to an arcade. I think he could have been a little more creative. They did have fun though. We went to the "game room" in the mall and spent a little time there before I had to go to work.

"Kids Choice: Chasyn~Bowling"

Day 19: Chasyn's Choice...Bowling

http://www.kidsbowlfree.com/

This week is kids choice week, so we are going oldest to youngest.  I had them write down their top three choices and I would pick from the list.  Today we are going bowling.  I thought that was a great idea, and it would give us a chance to use our free bowling coupons for the first time this summer.  Go to kidsbowlfree.com and sign up. Its free and easy! All kids under 18 bowl for free all summer long, 2 games per day, everyday.  This is a huge bargin for our family due to the sheer size of our family. You can also buy a discount pass for up to three adults if the adults want to bowl too.  All we had to pay was shoe rental, it only cost me $8.00. The kids love bowling so this is something we can do all summer long and it is super affordable.

"Mom's Choice: Write a Play"

Day 18: Start to write a play and perform it later in the summer

It's Monday, June 11th, and we decided that this week we would do "Kids choice", starting with the oldest (ME...ha ha ha!!).  Today is "Mom's Choice."  I told the kids we were cleaning...they didn't appreciate that. While we did get some cleaning done, I also told them that we would be performing a play later on in the summer and that we were going to write it, act it out, and video tape it for everyone to see.  At first the boys weren't too thrilled with the idea, but once they got their creative juices flowing, they started to come up with silly ideas. Maisy loves this kind of thing, it's right up her alley.
So, armed with a paper and pencil, I had them all write down their ideas and characters. I think we might do a mash-up of all their ideas and make one play out of all their plays. It will take a little work, but I think it will be cute if they all cooperate :)

WISH US LUCK~ LOVE THE FRITCH CLAN

"Reese's S'mores/Night Swimming" ~ "Glow in the Dark Bubbles"

Day 16: Try a new kind of S'more (Reese's S'mores)/Night Swimming & Day 17: Glow in the Dark Bubbles

Day 16:  We had a busy, fun filled day today!!  We went to the Farmer's Market in the morning, I love the Farmer's Market.  And we got a lot done outside today.  We had so many things going on today that we didn't get to do everything, we missed my nephew's graduation party :(
It was such a gorgeous day out today, the weather was perfect! We ended our day with a campfire and decided we would try something new...Reeses Peanut Butter Cup S'mores.

Everyone had a fun time making S'mores and sitting around the campfire :)

Later, we decided to go 'night swimming'.  It was really warm out and the kids just loved the idea, they had a blast!!

"Watermelon Eating Contest"

Day 14: Outdoor Painting Project & Day 15: Watermelon Eating Contest

Day 14....This particular morning was a was a busy one for us and I had to work in the afternoon. We have been working on some big projects outside this summer. We are adding a chicken coop this year and the kids will be helping us raise chickens for eggs. We are also getting some goats. We have been updating our shed and have a lot of painting and other things to do, so Dad asked if the kids would like to help paint.
Today we started to paint the lattice that Dad and Grandpa Terry put up...
